Assessment and Reporting:
There are three formal Assessment Points at regular intervals over the academic year. The detailed grade card produced from these ‘APs’ share with parents an update on their child’s academic progress (based against challenging personalised targets), and their attitude to learning in each subject. They include a key written target in each subject which, if achieved, will significantly improve their progress. On the reverse of the grade card we report on the pastoral aspect of school: attendance, punctuality and behaviour.
The third and last grade card of the year also contains the end-of-year summative form tutor report, sharing achievements in and out of school, extra-curricular activities undertaken and a section discussing students’ personal development.

The information gathered from the Assessment Points is used in a variety of ways to inform many different groups of staff and parents of current and predicted performance, which leads to action plans to ultimately improve students’ performance. The graphic below illustrates examples of the use of Assessment Point data.

Staff meet on a regular basis to discuss any individuals who are giving cause for concern and parents are invited into school to play their important part in the monitoring of their child’s progress.
